The woods in Spring is a bleed of chartreuse green and violet pinks that can vanish overnight. Living near Lake Superior, the woods and fields around my home inspired many paintings. Some were started en plein air and finished with intuitive color and marks in the studio. Summer is a thousand shades of green. We would catch fireflies and bring the jars of light inside. The painting ‘Fireflies’ was painted from this experience.
